Technical description
On the slip return template belonging to the rotating table bricks of all European sizes up to 240 x 120 x 71 (German size NF) can be loaded. The number is dependent of its hardness: two pieces extruded brick, 4 pieces soft mud bricks. The available saw power of 15 kW needs to be shared between a set of two or four blades. The high precision angular gear box is fitted with an equal high precision shaft for the mounting of these sets. The shaft resists the heavy forces from the exterior blades easily due to its Cr-Mob alloy components.

For cutting slips on this machine the same dimensions are permitted, and even the height of the brick may increase to 2DF German size (113 mm high).

The machine is very much suitable as a starting machine for the e.g. brick traders who are uncertain of the future brick demands, because the DecoBasic® can be reconsidered as the slip return cutting machine next to the additionally purchased ( or rented ) bulk slip cutter to cope with the growing demand.

A single operator can load and unload the products. The machine is equipped with an indexing table for this purpose, which has 2 positions for 2 or 4 bricks. After loading, the table makes a half turn to perform the next cutting cycle. Each of the sides is fitted either with the slip templates or the slip return templates. They are very easily exchangeable.

3 cycles per minute can be achieved for soft materials, which translates into 12 slips or 6 slip returns per minute. Harder bricks, cut with two blades in the cycle, will produce up to 6 slips and 3 slip returns. Whether this number is achieved is depending form the operators ability to load and unload the bricks and cut pieces within the cycle time of minimum 20 seconds. Also the hardness of the bricks determine this output figure.

Another fundamental difference with respect to all other Deco® machines is the position at which the saw blade makes contact with the product. The slips are cut in the template mounted backwards, the slip return templates are faced to the operator. Due to the blade natural reaction force these bricks have to remain in position by a simply designed clamping system. The bricks for slip cutting do need no fixation at all. Thus, the blades will keep turning to the rear providing the collection of the big amounts of water and slurry into the water bin underneath the machine. This way of designing prevents the sensible components as motors and actuators from being polluted unnecessary.

DecoBasic® used as a calibrating machine.
With the increasing demand for equal brick slip lengths at the prefab industries in mind, we have made this machine concept also suitable for grinding. The wheels are easily fitted on the same shaft as the saw blades, the jigs for slips or slip returns need to be replaced. On this other set of jigs 20 pieces of 20 mm brick slips are hold by a simple clamping system. The are calibrated in one cycle, and we expect to be able to run the maximum of 3 cycles per minute – at the condition that the operator can keep up with the machine -. So: per hour 3.500 brick slips can be calibrated!

This method will undoubtedly bring more grinding or calibrating jobs within reach: name it and we will start an investigation!

Also new for all Deco® machines built from 2009: lots of covering and contact components are made of stainless steel. All other carbon steel parts and subassemblies are also very well protected by spray galvanizing and finishing with 2 layers of two components polyurethane coating. So no more unacceptable rusting of the equipment like in the past: this keeps the staff motivated to clean and maintain the machine regularly: one of the basic conditions for careless operation.

This single-operator machine is positioned in between the DecoUni® and the Clipper manual machines. It is also our entry model, and it makes the Clippers redundant. The dangerous work is now accomplished, while the operators capacity will reach its optimum. His work has become humanitarian, far from boring. Also the owner can be satisfied with just one machine for his brick slip demand as well as a corresponding number of slip returns.
